EDUCATION:
I earned my doctoral degree from La Salle University in 2009. Prior to graduation, I had the privilege of working under the supervision of Dr. Edna Foa, Dr. Elizabeth Hembree, and Dr. Martin Franklin at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at The University of Pennsylvania, where I received extensive training in exposure based CBT treatments for anxiety (Social, OCD, Panic, PTSD) and the CBT treatments for Impulse Control Disorders (Tic Disorder, Trichotillomania). It was also prior to graduation that I was first exposed to Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In 2011, I was invited to serve as an adjunct professor in La Salle University’s Psy.D. program in clinical psychology and continue to enjoy teaching and supervising students in this program.

I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Princeton House Behavioral Health, a part of the Princeton University Medical Center. During this time I completed rotations in addiction and trauma and worked with men and women attending inpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient and outpatient programs. In the Women’s Trauma Program, I was able to work on a team that provided DBT to women attending the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospital Programs.

Following my pre-doctoral internship, I was granted the opportunity to complete my postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Aaron T. Beck’s Psychopathology Research Center (ATB-PRC). During this time, I worked directly under the supervision of Dr. Beck, the founder of Cognitive Therapy, and was involved with the research and dissemination of CBT in Philadelphia and across the country. Upon the completion of my postdoctoral training at the ATB-PRC, I was invited to stay on as a research associate and later as a psychologist until 2014. In 2011, I became an adjunct faculty member at The Beck Institute, a leading international source for training, therapy, and resources in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and continue to enjoy supervising and consulting to individuals throughout the United States that are interested in growing as CBT therapists.

I strongly believe in working collaboratively with my clients to set specific treatment goals and utilizing evidence-based treatments to address thoughts, emotions or behaviors that may be getting in the way of building a life that is in line with your values. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety (social, worry, OCD and panic attacks), trauma, mood disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, self- injury, suicidality, substance use disorders and many other problems affecting quality of life.

As a CBT and DBT therapist, I believe it is so important to work on balancing acceptance of where you are in any particular moment with the need for making changes that will help you build a life worth living.
